BROWNFIELDS '97
Partnering For A Greener Tomorrow

September 3-5, 1997

Kansas City, MO

Brownfields '97, is designed for those interested in the assessment,
cleanup, redevelopment, financing, and revitalization of Brownfields
communities.

The forum will bring together key experts from all levels of
government, business, finance, and local communities to share ideas and
experiences in this burgeoning field. Novices and seasoned
professionals will have the opportunity to attend plenary sessions,
topic-specific panels, and networking events. Brownfields '97 ensures
all stakeholders ample opportunity to be involved in "partnering for a
greener tomorrow."

REGISTRATION

To obtain a registration form please call the Brownfields toll-free
Hotline at 1-888-795-4684. Deadline for registration forms to be sent
in is August 4, 1997.

PARTICIPANT SCHOLARSHIPS

The International City/County Management Association (ICMA)
will be sponsoring a limited number of travel scholarships that will be
made available to community-based stakeholders involved in the
Brownfields Economic Redevelopment Initiative who otherwise would not
be able to attend Borwnfields '97. This process will help to ensure
maximum participation by all stakeholders in the Brownfields process.
You must be affiliated with a community group or grassroots
organization or a local or state government to be eligible. For more
information on how to apply for a scholarship, please call the
Brownfields hotline at 1-888-795-4684. Deadline to apply for a
scholarship is July 16, 1997.

Brownfields '97 is hosted by:

Kansas City, MO; Kansas City, KS; Missouri Department of Natural
Resources; and Kansas Cepartment of Health and Environment.

US Environmental Protection Agency; Martgage Bankers Association of
America; International City/County Management Association (ICMA); The
United States Conference of Mayors; National Religious Partnership for
the Environment; National Conference of Black Mayors, Inc.; and The
Trust For Public Land.
